The flag of Barbados has an aspect ratio of 3:2. It consists of three vertical bands with the following color codes and proportions:

1. Ultramarine blue (Pantone 286C) - occupies 1/4th of the flag's width on the left side.
2. Gold (Pantone 116C) - occupies 1/2 of the flag's width in the middle.
3. Ultramarine blue (Pantone 286C) - occupies 1/4th of the flag's width on the right side.

In the center of the gold band, there is a black trident head (also known as the broken trident) with its base touching the bottom edge of the flag and its top points extending to the upper edge. The trident head is centered both vertically and horizontally within the gold band.
