The flag of India has a rectangular shape with a ratio of 2:3. The top third of the flag is orange, the middle third is white, and the bottom third is green. The colors are specified in the following color codes:

In the center of the white stripe is a navy blue Ashoka Chakra (wheel) with 24 spokes, which has a diameter of approximately three-fourths of the height of the white stripe. The chakra is also known as the Dharma Chakra and represents the wheel of law in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.

The design of the flag was adopted on July 22, 1947, and the specifications were finalized by the Constituent Assembly of India on January 24, 1950.
