Brunei’s flag features a yellow field with two diagonal red bands running from opposite corners. The width of each band is 1/5th of the height of the flag. At the centre of the flag is a white crescent which points up and is overlain by a white anchor. The crescent and anchor are united by a ribbon of royal yellow bearing an inscription in black Arabic script reading ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’, which means ‘God bless the Sultan’. The aspect ratio of the flag is 226:335.
