The flag of United Arab Emirates is a vertically oriented rectangular tricolor with an overall ratio of 2:3. The colors, from the hoist to the fly, are green, white and black, respectively. At the center of the white stripe is a red, isosceles triangle with a flat base. The length of the triangle's base is equal to 1/5 of the width of the flag, and the peak of the triangle surpasses the central point of the flag by a width equal to 1/8 of the flag's width.
